About Me.
My name is Sheri Hayden and I've been actively pursuing my dance dreams since I received my Bachelor's Degree from Oklahoma City University in Performing Arts in Dance Performance. Gratefully, I have been employed within the dance industry ever since. I have traveled the world and performed on Holland America Cruise Lines, been featured in local television programs and commercials, been apart of RACE Dance Collective for several seasons, performed in showcases in Chicago, Miami and Los Angeles, and have worked with the Oklahoma City Philharmonic, The Pollard Theatre and Tulsa Ballet.
I also graduated from Oklahoma City University with my Masters in Nonprofit Leadership in Arts Administration. Currently, I am a faculty member of the Ann Lacy School of American Dance and Entertainment at Oklahoma City University (OCU) where I teach multiple dance styles and have choreographed several main stage productions for the Musical Theater Department. In addition to OCU, I'm also faculty at the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO), training dancers in both the musical theater and dance departments and setting works on the Kaleidoscope Dance Company. Now serving as Executive Director, I have worked with nonprofit dance company RACE Dance Collective since 2012 and spent many seasons as a full-time company member before transitioning to my leadership position.
Over the years, I've given countless master dance classes throughout the Oklahoma City area and the surrounding areas, including summer intensives for both the Ann Lacy School of American Dance and Entertainment and the Bass School of Music (OCU). I have served on a panel of judges for competitions such as Oklahoma Dance Masters of America, Oklahoma State Dance Team Directors’ Association, Edmond Chamber’s Dancing with the Stars, Starbound, Triumph National Talent, and Dance Champs.
